Much better than I expected for $300...

Pros Price, picture, build quality...
Cons Lowest volume setting annoyingly high! Speakers are weak, documentation on CD only...
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  I can recommend this product because of a solid build quality, good picture, and great price!
I purchased this TV for $300 on Black Friday for my bedroom. This is my first LCD TV and I really didn't do much research on it like I usually do for major purchases because my expectations were pretty low. I have to say this is a great package for the price. I am very happy with the level of brightness of the screen, the quality of the picture, and the build quality. They are all beyond my expectations for such a low-priced unit.

This is my first Olevia product and I am impressed.

There are some things I don't like about the unit of course. The most annoying issue is that the lowest setting for the sound is really quite high. Like I said this is for my bedroom and today I took a nap and left the TV on and was awakened to what I thought was a blaring TV. I tried to turn it down and it went mute!! I am actually listening to it as I type this at the lowest setting and I still think it is too high. It would prefer there be 3-4 more levels of volume to choose between this setting and mute. This could be solved if you have a separate audio system and thus could turn off the speakers.

***UPDATE***
Ok, this is terribly annoying. I'm going to lower my rating for the sound quality. Here is another option I came up with... turn the balance all the way to left or right so only one speaker is on and turn the treble and bass to the minimum levels.

Another minor quibble is that there is no manual printed out. This is not a major issue as it comes with a CD that has the manual in an Adobe Acrobat file on it. You could easily print it out and I presume it is a cost saving and environmental issue.

One other issue has to do with the speakers. They are quite cheap, which I expected, so it doesn't bother me much. If you purchase this product immediately go to sound menu in the setup menu and turn the bass up all the way. This made the audio more full sounding and less "tinny". Again, this could be solved by connecting a separate audio system.

All-in-all this is a great product at this price point! I can definitely recommend it thought I would also recommend checking it out in person in a store to see if the issues I have mentioned are not deal breakers.
