Pros
It is an inexpenice product to buy
Cons
Not worth the bucks
I have seen numerous positive reviews on the Olevia 542i hdtv set. What have these people been smoking ,or, drinking? I just hooked up my new tv a couple of days ago using my new Directtv hdreceiver. When I first turned it on I thought this was going to show a terrific picture due to the glowing reviews. What a let down. In my opinion it is a piece of "junk. With my old tv when I click a channel, BINGO I have another tv program without any delays.
This Olevia when I change channels has a blue screen that come up and the word "SIGNAL" jumps all over the screen prir to a new channel coming up. I thought with a new HDMI cable I purchased at a tv store, I would get instant response, but it didn't improve anything. Even the picture with the best HDMI cable didn't improve. My electrician adult son instalalled the cable that came with the Directtv receiver and some other cables was able to improve the response time just slightly by using "component 1" or HDMI2.
The manufacture is to cheap to include a written manual and you need to download a disc they provide and run 82 sheets of paper on your computer printer.
Now I am trying to figure out how to get rid of this piece of "junk" in the least expensive way. I haven't smoked ,or, drank anything while writing this review so I can truthfully say DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.
