great price, but MAJOR manual adjustments required

Pros Great picture quality if you are willing to work for it.
Cons Extremely unresponsive remote - this seems to be a universal problem.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  I would recommend this model if you are willing to make the manual adjustments necessary to get a good picture. I will replace the remote and hope for faster response.
bought this tv a few days ago after reading glowing reports re: the picture quality. I did know that some serious manual adjustment would be required but I had NO idea just how complicated it would be. Everything!! has to be adjusted manually to get a good quality picture - plus, the "quick set up" sheet recommends setting the color temp at 6500 vs. the "native" option.(no idea what that is) I found that the recommended setting was terrible - everything went gray and had a green tone. The "native" setting brought up fairly natural color; still it required hours of working with it to get an acceptable picture on most channels. I would get a perfect adjustment on one channel only to find that another one was green. BUT, after working on it quite a long time, I did wind up with a pretty good quality picture. There is NO manual - the CD included required software my laptop did not have so I just worked with it on my own. Another big hindrance is the remote. It is very unresponsive.(even the website recommends getting a universal remote to replace it!!) Also, if you enter a channel number manually, it takes 5 to 6 seconds for the tv to go to it. (that's a long time when you are just "surfing") This happens every time - not a terrible problem, but just aggravating. Overall, even though you will probably end up with a pretty good picture, I think I would pay a little more and NOT have to work so hard to get it. I'm still thinking about taking mine back and getting a better model. I'll live with it a few more days.
