Pros Good construction, good sound quality, a head-turner
Cons I just . . .can't . . .TAKE IT ANYMORE!
Recommended it? No

I Was the Canary in T-Mobile's Coal Mine
I began researching Blackberries a few months ago after my little Nokia phone started to fade. I was either going to have to continue to suffer through screaming "I'M SORRY. CAN YOU PLEASE REPEAT THAT?" as the El or some ambulance went whirring by, or I... Read full review »

Pros Nice graphics, Fun games
Cons Freezes too much, Slow interface, Junk, Junk, Junk

April 15, 2008 was a glorious day for me. Yes, I filed my taxes that day. More importantly, I also got a new phone, to replace the worst smartphone ever--the T-Mobile MDA.

Rather than focus on how wonderful my life is now that I don't use the phone, let me start with...

Why I got the... Read full review »

Pros Lots of features in a tiny package, Tmobile nationwide network no roaming, win mobile 5
Cons Tmobile's billing system, old tech, SERIOUS TRAINING ISSUES WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE...
Recommended it? Yes

I had metropcs, liked it alot except that it didn't work in the some of the smaller cities I travel to in florida a lot. I've had a tmobile prepaid phone for over a year that has been a great phone but it's really not economical for being your only phone, i.e. I was paying about 25 a month to use... Read full review »

Overwhelming PPC for Basic Users, but MDA is Full of Potential

bycucface Aug 10, 2007
11 Helpfuls 12 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros wifi, loud, upgradeable OS ROM, touch-screen, large LCD, 128mb RAM, quick sleep mode
Cons weight, low microphone volume, no dedicated alphanumeric keypad, no T9
Recommended it? No

Upgrading from a basic cell phone to a smartphone/pocket PC/PDA is an overwhelming jump. Those who are not tech-savvy will find this phone to be quite bulky and hard to use. And those who are upgrading from a previous smartphone/PDA will find this phone to be quite an upgrade, although will notice... Read full review »

MDA - not for the meek

bygil_thorpe Jan 22, 2007
10 Helpfuls 11 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Wifi, great keyboard, Outlook compatibility, bluetooth, Edge, quad band
Cons Slow processor, stylus needs improvement, not as easy to use as pure phone.
Recommended it? Yes

Lots of people make stupid complaints about this phone. Sorta like complaining about the cup holders in a Ferrari. Really, who cares if the camera isn't high res? In a pinch it's adequate for quick low-res photos that can easily be emailed. So it isn't as good or easy to use as a regular phone -... Read full review »

Overall, very solid phone.

-Full keyboard is a nice touch

-Windows mobile capability has kept me from losing all my information twice.

-Internet is awesome

However,
BEWARE of the touchscreen.
-While the touchscreen is nice, this is NOT a phone you... Read full review »

Pros can go on the internet
Cons cheap body finish, very slow everything

I've had this phone for about 2 years. I bought it because I had been searching for a PDA that had a touch screen, could play music, and had a camera.

I bought this one because it was the one T-mobile at at the time. I didn't want a Blackberry because the ones at that time didn't have... Read full review »

Most Complete Phone I Have Owned

bykivafriends Jan 6, 2008

Pros Tons of features, ease of use, reliability and quality, keyboard, screen size,...
Cons no GPS, no FM radio, no second camera for video chat, no vga screen pixelation
Recommended it? Yes

Believe it or not I received this phone for free with a new plan when the phone was just being released and retailed for about 400 dollars. I will never again revert back to a typically simple cell phone, although simple and easy to use can just as well be applied to this smartphone as well. I cant... Read full review »

Pros Great looking unit
Cons No service; no customer care; no recourse

My new T-mobile MDA, purchased in September, was only good as a phone for a month. After several calls [some with my IT guy in attendance] I got my emails. Another month later I was able to get my other outlook components. I spent about 20 hours on the phone; my IT guy about 10 hours. Each time we... Read full review »
