Great except for fatal flaw
Pros
super-easy navigation; separate lines for title and artist; shows bitrate; easy playlist construction; sound quality
Cons
CANNOT SCAN WITHIN MP3 FILES
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
Cannot scan within MP3 files, but otherwise it's the ultimate player.
I bought the TDK Mojo in May 2001, and returned it a month later.
The player itself worked great, sounded great, and was a blast to use. EXCEPT for the one flaw that made me return it: you cannot scan forward/backward within a song (MP3 that is, on an audio CD this works).
Think long and hard whether this is important to you before buying. This was especially annoying when listening to comedy albums, and when listening to newly downloaded songs that have glitches in them. When it glitched, I wanted to scan back 10 seconds and listen to it again. The file was bad, not the player; I never had a problem with the player's operation.
If this doesn't matter to you, then yeah, rush out an buy this at once.
The fact that it has separate lines for title and artist means you can see more of the title (and don't have to wait for the artist to scroll by before seeing the title) making navigation easier.
You can build a playlist by "turning on" the songs you want to hear and "turning off" the others.
It never skipped. Build quality is rugged. Has 4 separate buttons; better than RioVolt's joypad for easy no-look navigation.
I wish they would fix the scan so I can buy it again.
