Pros
Great sound and performance (when working properly). Easy to use.
Cons
Short warranty, short lifespan.

I bought this product because of the optical in for audio and the s-video in for video. Problem with that is that they are not on the same bus. Not JVC's fault, I should have done my research. I had hoped to use the fiber and s-video outs on my DirecTV Tivo, no such luck.
The sound is great, the item is easy to use. I was so pleased with the performance that I got over the issue with the audio and video ins.
My wife sarted telling my that there was an issue with the DVD playback while I was in Iraq. The unit was only 4 months old, so I figured it was something she was doing. Needless to say, that was not the most pressing issue at the time. When I got back, it was intermitant, and only an issue on the number 4 tray. Now none of them work. The warranty on labor was gone by the time the first problem occured, and the warranty on parts was gone by the time I got back from Iraq (90 days labor, 365 parts). Last JVC I buy.
