For most people I know, the 61-disc capacity meets or exceeds their entire collection. For myself, it plays my favourite 15% of my collection. And for me, that's just about right. As I tire of a title, I remove it and replace it with something better.
I am very happy with the quality of the player itself. After flipping open the whole front panel, the sliding loader/ejector is very easy to operate. You can load and unload CDs while the unit is playing. The controls operate very much like any other player.
Organizing your music into categories and labelling them takes time, but for an audiophile, that in itself is a joy. You can organize your music into up to five genres, and each disc can be labelled as belonging to one or more of those genres. Then comes my favourite feature of this player and others in the SL-MC series: Random play by genre. I can listen to a random assortment of industrial tunes, or ambient tunes, or goth tunes. Whatever mood strikes me. It will play 250 tunes in a row and then stop, which is great for absent-minded people like me. Even so, this unit has been changing CDs for a long time, and with no signs of wearing out.
If you've been considering a CD changer component, I highly recommend giving one of these a look. It might just be worth the extra money.
