The Bottom Line:
Once you understand the potential of having this type of jukebox cd player you will never be able to go back to any other type of cd player.
My problem was a huge stack of CDs and running out of storage space. This cd player allows you to store your cds inside the machine. You can house 110 cd inside the machine, all kept safe and dust free. There is 1 additional cd slot that is reserved for one time play cds that you may want to listen to, to test the music on the cd, before selecting a permanent slot for it, or perhaps if you borrowed a cd from someone else.
In addition, It allows you to manage your cd collection much more efficiently, by giving you an index booklet that you create out of the cd covers from your purchased disks, or you can make your own, for cds you burn yourself
(CD-Rs).
Another great thing is the ability to group your music by genre, which allows you to really enjoy, your music collection. Or you can just randomly play tracks, which is also enjoyable.
You can randomly play tracks on a single disc or in a group of discs, or you can even randomly play 1 track on all the discs in your player. In this mode some songs may get played twice, some may not get played at all, its like a music lottery.
The information you enter into the unit stays in the unit even if you unplug the machine. Disc grouping stays in the machine for a week with no power and text editing stays indefinitely.
There is a text keypad both on the machine and on the remote that allows you to labels cds electronically. Up to 32 characters of text can be displayed when the changer is stopped, and the entire information scrolls through when the changer is running.
The remote control that comes with the unit is very comprehensive, allowing you to control every aspect of the unit. It also works from very far away, approx 7 meters and at most angles, so it is very easy to use.
The entire front panel of the cd player folds down for easy access for placing cd inside the machine. I have seen other machines that have just a small access door, and this is much much better.
The system used to load the cds is designed to keep your cds safe and clean and works very well. Its called a loader carriage and basically you just slide the loader to an empty slot, place the disc in the loader and flip the cd into its slot.EASY!. To take out a disc is the same, just move the loader to the disc you want and press an eject button and the disc pops out into the loader.
The unit has Optical digital audio outputs which allow you to connect via an optical fiber cable to a DTS (Digital theater Systems) decoder. You would need a receiver that has a digital sound processor, and you need a DTS format cd., This allows you 6 channel playback which is exceptional.
The unit is about 15 lbs, and is taller than other stereo components but not much bigger in terms of foot print so it would go into most stereo cabinets.
Since I purchased this model It has allowed the whole family to really begin exploring the music collection we have and to enjoy a no hassle listening experience.
