Surprised!
Last year I received a gift from my company during the holidays. I could purchase any item out of a catalog for under 200 dollars. Since I needed a CD player (my 8 year old Sony finally bit the dust), I picked the Technics SL-PD888. This 5-CD carousel was much more than I had anticipated.

Technics: Not always reliable

Very good for the money and very reliable
My dad got this cd player almost 3 years ago, and he has used it constantly ever since. It has never had any trouble. It changes discs and tracks very fast and quietly, it's one of the best at reading scratched cd's (confirmed by Consumers Reports tests).
