Last year I received a gift from my company during the holidays. I could purchase any item out of a catalog for under 200 dollars. Since I needed a CD player (my 8 year old Sony finally bit the dust), I picked the Technics SL-PD888. This 5-CD carousel was much more than I had anticipated.
First, It sound just as good as the 400.00 dollar Sony that it was replacing. Plus it had all the features, Random play settings (1 disk, all 5 disks), continuos play (1 disk or all 5). It also has a timed mode to start playing automatically and a 10 selection program mode to pre-select a play list.
It came with a remote control (I guess every electronic component does these days), which allows you to fast forward thru you CDs.
The Sony used to skip occasionally, but the Technics CD player has had no such problem so far.
Conclusion: One of the best inexpensive 5-disk CD players money can buy.
