If you have a treasured LP collection like me, slash out on this classic machine. You deserve it. But buy it online from a reliable retailer, like DJKit.co.uk
If you want to buy a good turntable online from a reliable seller, then you have to try DJKit.co.uk. I must emphasize, I have no connection with them - I am just a very satisfied customer of theirs.
THIS MY STORY: For over a month I have been trying to buy a Technics SL1210MkII turntable online for my treasured LP collection, but I have been frustrated by all sorts of unreliable sellers. Various sites all showed/pretended to have this turntable in stock, but when I placed my order it regularly turned out that they didn't have any stock. They just wanted to secure my order - a couple took my money in advance, even though they refunded it without any argument. On one occasion I ordered the turntable through Amazon from one of their sellers. When I rang them after receiving several delaying bits of info from them, they told me that "the manufacturer had put up the price", so they could not sell it to me for the advertised price (as advertised on the Amazon site)! .....
BUT ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL .... I chanced upon this site: djkit.co.uk
The djkit.co.uk site is easy to navigate, they have a phone number conspicuously advertised so the customer can ask in advance if they actually have the stuff in stock. I rang them on a Saturday afternoon (10th March), and the extremely helpful and polite assistant assured me they did really have the turntable in stock, and he even apologised that they could get it to me "only" by Tuesday as they didn't have a delivery pick-up on Saturday. And lo behold! The turntable arrived on Tuesday morning (13th March) as promised. I paid #345 for the turntable - recorded delivery postage was free.
DJKit offers lots of "DJ equipment" which of course is totally excellent for personal home use as well. They sell CD/MP3/DVD etc players, decks, mixers, cables, microphones, headphones, amplifiers etc. It is nice to find reliable people online - I know I will be buying other stuff too from DJKit.
I had a perfect purchasing experience with them - so I thought I'd share this info with others.
