Works great when it has power!
Pros
Wireless, no surface required to use it, doesn't require line-of-sight to computer like IR does.
Cons
BATTERY LIFE! NI-CAD's MUST be discharged completely every time to maximize long-term functionality.

The idea of this unit being able to take it off the desktop and use it in the air is really nice. It works quite well when it is functional; however, it runs out of power way too quickly.
I am guessing that Gyration when the CHEAP way and used a NiCAD (instead of LiION or NiMH) battery for the Air Mouse cause it takes it 6 - 8 hours to charge and only lasts TWO DAYS with light to moderate use! The battery itself is NOT user-serviceable. There is no way to gain access to the actual battery itself which is inside a sealed plastic housing the pops off the unit.
It IS replaceable by pushing the release tab and pulling it off; but I would guess you would have to send it back to Gyration for replacement or order a new one from them and dispose of the old at a HazMat roundup.
