Goodbye VCR!!!!
Pros
Easy to find, record and manage programs.
Cons
Customer service is hard to reach.
Recommended it?
Yes
I'll never use a VCR again! Tivo is the greatest invention since sliced bread.
Sure, it's a little more difficult to program than a VCR but once you learn how to use it you'll be glad you did. Tivo makes it so easy to find, record, and organize your shows.
Yes there are minor issues with picture quality when you record at a lower quality to save on space but for me it's an easy tradeoff for how well this thing works. If you're looking for HD picture quality and studio quality sound you won't find it with Tivo but for everyday television viewing, you can't beat it.
You can even connect (network) two or more Tivo units together in your home and share programs between them.
Their customer service department can only be reached by phone and there is usually a long wait to speak with someone. That would be the only bad thing I could say about Tivo.
