The Bottom Line:
If you don't already have TIVO, get it now! What are you waiting for?
I received this TIVO for Christmas from my husband. I said "nice present you bought yourself" as I did not think I would use such a device. Wow was I ever wrong! I HATE watching regular TV anymore. Or even going to the movies. TIVO has me so spoiled, even when I am at the movies, if I miss what was said, my first instinct is to rewind to catch what it was. My children are even spoiled by the TIVO. When a commercial comes on my two year old says "UH-OH!" If we happen to be watching live TV (which is very rare) we all sit impatiently until the program comes back on.
It has over 300 (I believe) hours of recording time available. With everything we record (and it is a LOT) I never seem to use all the available space. I love all the different options TIVO gives you to look up programs to record. Also the options of recording first run only or reruns is great. It gives you a choice to record a few minutes prior to and at the end of programs so you don't miss a thing. It tells you if what you would like to record conflicts with your other recordings.
When we purchased TIVO it gave you the option of paying for a "lifetime" of TIVO which was well worth the cost (I think around $300). I have heard this is no longer an option which is unfortunate for new buyers.
