Feature packed but not perfect

The Bottom Line:
Shop around before committing to this device. TomTom is releasing new models, as is Garmin, so there are a lot to choose from.
TomTom's reputation as a leader in GPS systems was what prompted me to choose this system. The price was competitive with a similar model from Garmin, but the TomTom had a few more features.
Overall the device has worked as expected, and I have not had any trouble with the windshield mounting device that others have complained about. The screen is very legible and the global positioning software is extremely accurate. There have been a few minor glitches in terms of the system not knowing which streets are closed, and sometimes a street name is not accurate. These issues, however, have been minor and rare, and nothing that would interfere with me getting to my destination. The spoken directions, including street names, are very clearly spoken and there are many languages and voices to choose from.
The device was easy to configure to connect to my Bluetooth phone, and works well for wireless communication. This is a very handy feature.
The only recurring problem I've had has been the device seems unable to determine when its light and when its dark and adjusting the color and brightness intensity accordingly. It worked fine for the first few months of ownership, but recently has stopped working. If it does not correct itself, I will have to return the device, which is thankfully still under warranty.
