We purchased this with some gift cards we had. We had not planned on purchasing a GPS, but we decided that it might make life a bit easier. The TomTom resides in my car and I do not leave it on all the time. I find that I only turn it on when I need it. I must admit that I don't like any of the voices, I find them a bit annoying. My son loves to watch the screen as it changes as I drive.
We have found that the TomTom does make travel easier. We love that it automatically gets you back on course when you have made changes to your route.
