Great device for the money impared.

Pros Small, affordable, easy-to-use, loud, bright and clear screen, and has night/day modes.
Cons Sometimes the screen can be un-responsive and the device can lag out, short batterylife.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  I would recommend this to others, however go for a newer model if you can afford it.
This device saved my butt when driving a taxi-cab in Detroit, MI. I can't say how many times this thing stopped me from going the wrong way with a customer in the car. It's pretty accurate, for the most part, but has an issue with lag. The device is very very loud, and yet can be very very quiet and allows for complete customization including the boot screen and voices. There is a slew of user content on the Tom Tom Home application for windows, and allows the user to download and install custom voices for on-the-go funny directions and a more enjoyable experience with how directions are relayed, map updates, and more. Some of these voices you can download include celebrities for non-stop directional laughs and disney characters to help entertain your children, and map updates so that you don't have to buy the new mapset for a rediculus amount of money. The screen is very bright and is very crisp and clear. The device has a night and day mode that change the brightness of the screen and the colouration of the maps when the day turns into night or the night turns into day so that you don't have an issue seeing the device without it blinding you during the night or being difficult to see during the day. It does this automatically.

Some of the downsides include navigating the device's menus and options including setting a route that you need it to navigate. It can be a pain due to slow loading times and issues registering touches on the screen. Sometimes it doesn't register that you pressed anything at all and you may have to press harder or more often to get it to respond to your touch. Another downside is that it drains it's battery extremely fast and almost requires that you keep it on a charge cable in the car if you plan on using it for more than an hour. And finally the last downside is that it can sometimes take up to a full three minutes before it connects to the satellites and pin-points your exact location before you can input directions into it.
