TOSHIBA 19" 19HLV87 TFT LCD/TV/DVD HDTV
Pros
Looks nice, lots of ways to connect to other components including a computer
Cons
DVD player is terrible, sound is not that great for such an expensive television

No
The Bottom Line:
Don't buy this one, keep looking. The DVD player sounds like an out of control robot when it it loading and unloading a disc
I bought the TOSHIBA 19" 19HLV87 for my office, I looks very nice. The picture is sharp and sound is good for front mounted speakers, although some (maybe many people) will not be that pleased with the sound. It can be connected to computer via VGA cable. I could write more about the pros of the television, the cons are the real story. The DVD player alone makes my purchase a regrettable one. The slot loading DVD player is slow to load, and it sounds like it struggles to load DVDs. It is an alarming sound, groaning and clicking sounds greet you when you load the disc. It is just as slow and noisy when trying to eject a disc. The DVD player is supposed to play DIVX (a form of AVI movies), which means it should be able to play DVD-R discs burned on computer. No such luck, it plays 50% of the discs I put into it. The discs play fine on my stand alone DVD player in the family room. This is one temperamental television. Although I've only had the television for 2 months, I absolutely regret buying it. I wish I could give a better review, but the DVD functionality is abysmal and makes the television worth the price of a television without DVD functionality.
