well, it has some weakness but still it is SOo cheap

Pros cheapest wide screen HDTV , slim
Cons ugly looking back, hard to operate, shuts off by itself
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  40h80 is affordable to a lot people and it still packs same features and quality as other 3 grand or more expensive HDTV.
When i say it's cheap, i should really describe it as not as expensive(like other HDTVs). I read one of the reviewers saying that he/she bought 40h80 set from onecall.com. And i like to say that i also bought my set from the same site. Normally, i don't recommend any store but onecall.com is an exception. Their price is way too low and (fast)shipping is very reasonably priced. If i bought this set at local Goodguys store, i would've had to paid at least 400 bucks more. And when i recommended onecall.com to my uncle's friend and he bought HDTV from them, they even gave me a referral... i wonder how they ever make profit on HDTVs that they sell. Anyway...

Now, onward with the review... by no mean, this TV is perfect... far from it. 40h80's Back look more like a bad card box than what many people would think HDTV back would look like. It looks THAT bad but it doesn't bother me that much thought because i don't watch TV's back, i only watch TV screen. Second problem i have with this TV is that i still don't know how to set up favorite channels and a couple other features. I'm one of those people who don't like to read instruction but instead like to figure things out on my own by clicking and playing around. I've had this TV for almost 8 months now and i still have no idea how to set up favorite channels. The last but not the least problem i have with this set is that the TV turns itself off and comes right back on for no good apparent reason. It happened several time and i had to wonder is it just me or people who own this TV also. I did some research and i found out i wasn't the only one who's having that kind of problem. These are the bad stuff as far as i'm concern...

The good part... even though i bought this TV 8 months ago, it would still be a pretty good deal right now at 1500 bucks. I still have yet to see a wide screen HD ready TV ad that goes for around 1500 bucks. Certainly, this TV meets every basic HD ready TV requirement features such as 1080i, progressive scan input, S-video and plenty others. Other people have problem with the speaker but i really have none. In fact, i kind of like the speakers with built-in woofer. This TV isn't very large so it fits just right in a normal size to a small room. I loved watching 9ers play on this TV, it brings so much details on action. This HDTV is just the right TV for people who like to watch sports and movies on wide screen TV but can't afford 3 or 4 grand.
