Toshiba REGZA 42HL167 42" LCD TV

This is the first LCD TV that I have purchased, I did my homework on it and given it's specifications it met all of our needs and I felt it was a good value. Unfortunately for me the TV only lasted for 13 months before it suffered a very expensive failure. The TV broke down requiring a new power board and video board. I took the TV to an authorized Toshiba repair depot who inspected the TV and advised me of the repair cost to be in the area of $900. They could not find any reason for the failure. When I contacted Toshiba I got the run around and some false promises that they would review the failure and advise what they were prepared to do. After 30 days of waiting Toshiba customer service called to say sorry about the failure but it happens and unfortunately the TV is out of warranty I should have purchased an extended warranty.
