Beautiful TV at a beautiful price.
Hmmm..where do I start. I'm one of those people who have drooled over big screens for the last ten years and could never afford it. Finally this year was a good tax year for me and I decided to take the plunge and buy something ive always wanted.
I bought my tv from Rex at what I feel was a good deal. Basically they sold it to me for 1299 and through in a free DVD player for me to spend my money in their store. The tv was brought to my home the next night and I set on the sofa in awe because I finally owned one.
My Toshiba is a 50 screen, in a nice, black attractive cabinet. I was amazed at how much larger it seemed once it was in my living room. The first two nights I had to view it with the lamp on because the picture was bright and a bit overwhelming until I got use to it.
The picture is very clear and bright, the colors, stunning. And unlike the old big screens where you had to sit down in order for the picture to look decent, this one looks great standing or sitting.
The main menu is user friendly and also attractive. Very colorful pull down menu when you can attivate some of the tv's features. The unit has closed captioning, and you can set the menu for french, spanish as well as english.
One of the features that was small but a nice suprise is the recall button. If you turn to any channel, for instance HBO, the display will tell you the rating of the movie that is playing.
The sound has rich trebble and deep bass and adds to an enjoyable viewing session.
The only thing I wish the TV had was a protective plastic screen, to protect the main screen from scratches. But for what I paid, I cannot complain.
All and all my ten year wait was worth it. You cannot go wrong with this tv.
