Exceptional Picture!!
Pros
EXCELLENT PICTURE & EXCELLENT SOUND! No more high movie theatre prices!!
Cons
Haven't found it yet (over a year later)!
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Buy it - It is great all-around. Picture, sound, features. Well worth it.
We ordered this tv from an online dealer to replace an older 26" Toshiba. (Okay, I'll admit it we wanted a BIG screen tv). We did not view it ahead of time at a local dealer but we were very pleased with Toshiba in the past. Toshiba lives up to our high expectations AGAIN!!!
The picture quality is fantastic. It has a great viewing angle range -- 160 degrees. Definately something to look for when you are purchasing a large screen tv -- we have a clear picture from every seat in the room. After watching a DVD - its highly unlikely we will ever want to go to the movie theatre again!!
We are blown away by the sound. At times we can't tell if we have our surround sound system on or not -- the similated surround sound is SUPERB!
We finally have enough connections for our dvd, dss, vcr, video game systems. (Yes I can finally see the screen while playing four player MARIO KART!!! - its like each person has their own tv). Every game we've tried always gets the same response -- WOW!!
The in-laws were over for five minutes and practically left skid marks to go order their new tv!! We are not disappointed -- we would definately buy this tv if we had to do it all over again!!!
Update 12/14/02 -
We have had the tv for over 2 years now. We are still as pleased as we were when we purchased the tv. We don't have any complaints - it is definately a solid tv. Our only concern had been that the tv did not come with a protective cover over the screen. I decided not to order one (it was about $100 delivered from an online retailer). If we had rambunctuous children, we would probably definately consider it to ease our minds, if nothing else. The cat has decided to slide herself down the screen (not too thrilled about it but she has been getting herself into trouble lately) - she did not cause any problems. When we do decide to buy another tv - we will definately look at Toshibas again - it is definately worth every penny. I must also add - about 10 years ago when we purchase our smaller Toshiba (which is still running perfectly) we purchased the display model from Sams Club. There was no remote but Toshiba was very very helpful when I called. Perhaps that I why I would never consider a SONY again after problems with that brand.
