A so-so Plasma
Pros
Inexpensive. Picture quality okay with good High-Def source material.
Cons
Standard-Def images can be very bad. Upscaling images from 480 is poor.

This TV is described by Toshiba as a High-Definition TV, but the picture quality is only average. The image processor cannot keep up with fast moving pictures and becomes quite pixelated. I have paired the unit with high-def cable (from our local provider) and a standard-def Sony DVD player. With cable, I use Monster cabling HDMI and component for the Sony DVD player.
The high-def programming is okay. Colours are vibrant and pop (especially HD sports). Discovery channel programs also come through well. However, with less than stellar programming, the picture noise can get distracting. The TV cannot upsample some of the input sources well and leaves the picture with blocky, noisy and in some cases horrible images. Some channels are unwatchable.
The menu settings are intuitive, but limited. Sound is good for a TV of this caliber. Loud and clear.
