Toshiba 50HP66 50" Plasma TV

We purchased the Toshiba 50HP66 3 weeks ago to replace an aging 45" rear projection set. Of course, the improvement picture quality is stunning.
This set did not quite have as good a picture as the more expensive Pioneer models, but this one was within our budget and I believe it was the right choice. The extra cost would not justify the marginal improvement in picture quality of the other unit.
This set is wall mounted to be harder for the kids to reach. The unit has an IR pass through feature, which passes the signals from the remote control through a wire. This allows equipment such as DVD player or satellite receiver to be relocated in a remote location. We chose to move all of our equipment to a closet. This keeps the kids from messing with it.
The two complaints I have about the unit are very minor. The on screen menu function does not work as smooth as it could. It is very functional, but could be better.
There is a slight high-pitch noise that the set makes when displaying some dark scenes. You can't hear it unless the volume is turned down.
