works fine.....and bloody good picture for the money
Pros
52 inch dlp for under 2 grand now and amazing quality.
Cons
buttons on tv are hard to use-no big deal really
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
IF you want a very good picture for a good price and a like having a stand that you can put stuff into than this tv is for you.
*Im writing this at 2 am so im letting my spelling and punctuation run free right now.
I chose this set due to the fact for under 2 grand this thing beat the pants out of any tv in circut city or Video Only. It was the only 52 inch dlp under 2k with a 5 year warranty attached. The picture is very clean and it is the main reason for choosing this product.
Unlike the older technology projection sets which are huge and bulky this one is fairly light and has a decent stand that comes with to house all your (or some of your) components.
I should mention that I have not had a single problem with this unit yet. I have had it for a total for 5 hours so far and everything worked including the tv guide.
After doing further research it seems there was a firmware update for this tv a while back which seems to have solved the issues people are complaining about im taking a guess since mine is a late model off the line i already have it.
One feature I appreciate is that they still include an analog tuner. Seems some companies have stopped including a analog tuner(cost cutting) For most part i see their reasoning...such a waste to use such nice to tv with basic cable, but i should be the one to decide that.
Im pretty intuitive with electronics and I didnt even read the manual before i found most of the settings I wanted. I did obviously read the manual later to figure out how far behind i was on the changes in tvs. So in my opinion i thought the menu made sense for the most part.
I also liked the remote..simple to use compared to my kenwood amplifier or even my freinds older sony trintron monster.
Flaws.
The buttons on the tv resemble those flat touchscreen buttons on star treck and they dont seems to work too well. You need to know where to touch them to make them work. Its not too big of a deal because you really shouldnt be that close to it anyway..use the remote.
My remote also makes a noise when you turn the light on...doesnt bother me.
Thats all i can think for for now Ill probably update this review if something changes.
