The Bottom Line:
Great TV for the price and will remain technologically current into the future.
Purchased this TV just over a year ago and love it. Have compared it to a friend's Sony TV and couldn't tell much of a difference in picture quality even though he paid over $500 more. If anything the Toshiba seemed a little crisper and sharper, especially when running a Progressive Scan DVD.(Compared the two TVs using the same Progressive Scan player).
Sound quality from the speaker could be a little better but really is a non-issue if hooking up to home theater & Surround Sound system.
One point to consider is the shape of the cabinet. This TV has a flat top that allows you to place your audio/video equipment on top rather than having to buy a separate cabinet and placing it next to the TV (like the Sony). Saves another $100 or so....
