Toshiba 55HX70 55 in. TV

I purchased a toshiba 55hx70 in February , 2001. The ic convergence needed repair in January, 2004. It was out of warranty. I contacted an authorized toshiba repair center to have it repaired. i paid $75 for an estimate. The authorized service center, McVey electronics in Newburgh, NY lost its repairman and was unable to complete the repair, requiring me to find another service and pay for an estimate all over again. McVey would not return my estimate, so I contacted Toshiba. They said they had no responsibility for their authorized service centers and would not do anything to compensate me or arrange for a repair without an additional estimate.

I would never purchase another toshiba product given their unwillingness to assume any responsibility for what occurred. they would not even remove the service center from their authorized list of repair centers.
