Toshiba vs. Sony! Are you sure this is what you want..
Pros
Big, Widescreen, cheap, easy to use, pretty good image
Cons
Hard to see from several view points, picture not as good as others
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
Recommended but make sure this is what you want. Many TVs are alot better!
My best friend just bought the Toshiba 57 HD Compatable Widescreen Projection Television 57H81, and I just bought a 54" widescreen Sony projection tv. I was at his house a few days ago and we were talking about our TVs. His TV did have a slightly larger picture but it did not look nearly as sharp and crisp as my Sony, which I have written a review on so check that out along with a few others of mine. This TV had fuzzier edges and it is only good looking when you sit eye level directly in front of the TV. I have had this similar problem with my Sony, I think it is a problem with all projection TVs. But it looks alot worse on the Toshiba when I stand up, there are dark areas around the main object and bordering the main picture. One positive of this TV is it's price. It is only $2,100. While my Sony was a little over $3,000. Probably because you are paying more for the Sony name and a little better quality. This TV is also very easy to use. Everything is controlled from one single controller. It is easy to install also. It also has an awesome widescreen mode. IT is HUGE! You can see so much more than the traditional view. Well... I will leave the rest upto you. I recommend you look at my Sony reviews and other people's reviews too.
