Cons
BULB PROBLEMS!
Recommended it?
No
I purchased this tv about 2 1/2 years ago and thought I received a great deal. Originally a great value for the price with a good picture. HD programing looks really good on it. However, about 3 months ago I heard a pop and realized my bulb had burned out. No big deal I thought the time was reasonable for a $175 replacement part. I replaced the bulb and to my chagrin the replacement bulb burned out within a month. Contacted bulb seller and received a new bulb under warranty rthinking maybe I just received a bad bulb. The new, new bulb lasted about 3 weeks and burned out again. So I'm wondering why the bulbs are burning out so quickly? I reviewed Mitsubishi's 73" DLP and received really good reviews so I just purchased it; hopefully I won't have the same problem. The question is do I keep the Toshiba and keep replacing an expensive bulb? Any thoughts on what to do with the behemeeth?
