CW34X92 Review
Pros
Excellent picture, good sound, not too heavy (vs Sony), many inputs
Cons
none
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
This set does a great job on cable, DVDs and over the air analog and digital input. (I don't have satellite yet). It is easy to set up.
I got my CW34X92 a few weeks ago. It worked perfectly right out of the box. I also have a Toshiba DST 3000 HD receiver box, which was easy to set up. The user manual is well written and easy to follow.
The HDTV signals I get from CBS, NBC, ABC and Fox come in perfectly, once the antenna is correctly pointed to the transmitter towers. The box appears very sensitive; a one or two degree shift in antenna direction will cause some of the stations to have video/audio breakup on digital signals.
DVDs look terrific on this set. My DVD player is a four year old mid-priced Panasonic, with interlaced component output. The TV converts the DVD's output to 480p with no apparent motion or other artifacts.
I am going to have the set ISF calibrated, since I've read many reviews saying this will make a good picture even better. So I'll give it a try.
Finally, it does a decent job with my otherwise grainy cable signals. Having an outdoor antenna input as a comparison, however, shows up how poor my cable signals are vs even analog over-the-air network signals. And the HD digital signals blow the cable away completely.
Bottom line. I am very happy with this set.
