This machine has everything you need and the price was right.However you need to be an electronics Geek to operate this thing. The operator's manual is about 150 pages long and I found it very confusing. I have had the D-R2 about two months and still can't get the programmed recorder to work.
It takes about 5 minutes to load a RAM disc and then usually rejects it and you have to start all over again. Playback of Video Disc is excellent. The Tech help at Toshiba is outstanding, thank goodness because I really need it.
To sum it up, I think that it is a quality machine, but too difficult to use.
