The Monster in my Basement!!

Pros Best Picture, Best Price!
Cons The sucker weighs 400 pounds!
Recommended it? Yes
Okay, put all your dirty little thoughts aside! I am talking my Toshiba. We like to call it BERT.
Ever since I met my husband, he has been begging me to "let" him buy a BIG SCREEN! Well, recently we had a windfall and I finally broke down.
It was Christmas Season, and we shopped everywhere. We shopped online, offline, in the malls, while we decked the halls (sorry just had to say that).
Finally, we fell in love with, a TOSHIBA! It was Best Buy's first one delivered in our little town. Therefore, they told us we would have to wait until Christmas Eve for ours to be delivered. As we called around, we found that every vendor said the same thing!
Well, this was just not going to work. To begin with, we were going out of town! Besides, who wants to pay $5000.00 and then have to wait 3 weeks for it to be delivered? I mean hey, it is NOT custom built!
Finally, after several days of whining, begging, and pleading, we found one little store that said they would deliver it to us in 72 hours. They lied, it took more like 5 days, but it was better then 3 weeks!
Did you know those things weigh 400 pounds? Well, the moving guys said that it felt more like a ton, but I think the snailsman...errr salesman said 400 pounds. I'm sorry I digress.
We put the baby downstairs, and once we hooked up our DVD player and Carver Speakers (surround sound!), I only had one question for my husband? Why did we wait so long to get a BIG SCREEN?
I am such a computer geek. However, ever since Bert moved in I must say I spend a lot of time sitting on my big butt, in front of our Toshiba.
We play movies on it, and play video games galore on it, up to and including N64, Playstation, and Dreamcast. The next thing I would like to do is hook up my computer to it!
The picture is like looking out a window! It is HDTV ready and even the sound system that it came with, is the best I have heard out of all the TV's we looked at.
This product is not for those on a shoestring budget. If you are someone who is looking at buying a Big Screen, this is the one. It is on Consumer Buying Guide's as the best for it's price range. However, If you do not have a lot of money and want a Big Screen, consider secondhand. Many people are selling analog sets for dirt-cheap, because they want to sell to make room for their digital set.
In closing, I just want to say, I love you Bert! See you tonight!
