A GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING

Pros We found our guest appreciated having a VCR available. This one is easy to use.
Cons None
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  We recommend this product as it will give good service and lots of enjoyment. We use for movies and taped programs.
Our son decided we were in need of a VCR for our Townhouse here in Salado, Texas so he surprised us with this TOSHIBA M265. This is a 2-head Video Cassette Recorder and has worked great for us. It has been a good addition to our rental unit and our guests have made comments that they appreciated having a VCR available.

ELECTRONIC WIZARD
When it comes to making all the adjustments and getting the VCR ready to record or even to run a movie, it is up to me; the so called electronic wizard to the rescue. My husband is not of the mechanical nature, so he depends on me to figure out all the intricate details of any electronic gadget we have. It is fine with me I assume it is in the genes on how you react to certain mechanical problems. LOL!

MANUAL WHERE ARE YOU
There was a manual with the TOSHIBA VCR that explains all the features, but what do we find after arriving this year that this manual is gone. Along with our Television manual, that manual is not as important as the VCR one, to program in your recordings. Why these manuals are gone is beyond anyone?s knowledge. Without the manual I have not been able to fix the flashing 12:00 o?clock. OH well so much for mechanical wizardry and another mechanical issue gone unsolved. I have sent for another manual to help our guests figure out this VCR.

ALL ABOUT THIS VCR
This TOSHIBA VCR has the following features:
l. Front-loading quick access system
2. Center load system
3. One-touch record
4. Auto head Cleaner
5. 181-channel frequency tuner
6. Digital tracking
7. Energy Compatible

Dimensions and weight are as follows:
l. Width 11? by Height 3.7? and depth 14.5?
2. Weight 8 lbs.

OPERATING THIS VCR
This size was just right to fit in our entertainment center and adjacent to our television. The front of the VCR as the power switch, front load for your tape, clock and shows the speed you wish to tape. There is a long door at the bottom of the set, when this is opened it reveals switches and systems to work your VCR without the remote. A universal TV/VCR remote is included and is easy to use, it has all the functions of running your VCR at your fingertips. All the buttons are easy to read, when watching a movie, press TV/VCR and change your TV channel to #3, place your movie in the slot and it will start automatically. There is a stop buttons to stop the movie if you are interrupted. Just press play and continue on with the movie. The rewind is fast and shuts off when completely rewinding the movie. An eject button also is next to the tape slot.

RECORDING A PROGRAM
To record a program you will need to know what channel you wish to record, then at that time press the buttons to record. While the VCR is recording you can change channels to watch another program. This is handy when two programs you want to watch are on at the same time. The delayed timing system has always been hard for me to follow those directions, without the manual totally impossible.

VCR?S MANY DUTIES
We have used our TOSHIBA VCR on many occasions while we are here during the winter. We received movies for Christmas and have enjoyed them all. I have recorded football games especially the Nebraska Football games in the fall. We also taped programs we want to see when we were away. If we are reviewing a taped football game, there are many times my husband wants to see a play over again, so we can quickly rewind and press play. If we have recorded a game or a program while we are away and want to by-pass the commercials, we quickly fast forward to the next segment. This also works great and makes watching the replays or programs go by much faster.

Usually your typical VCR?s are easy to operate, it only causes me trouble if I am trying to do a tape delayed time slot. This TOSHIBA VCR would be a good system for a child?s room or if you own rental property, it would be a nice addition for your guests. It is nice to have another new electronic gadget to add to our pleasure. TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THESE NEW SYSTEMS IS LIKE READING A BOWL OF ALPHABET SOUP!!
