Picture quality and features make this a great TV.

Pros Nice size, convenient, excellent display, many out/inputs
Cons Remote control buttons small, heavy
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  The Toshiba 20" TV/VCR Combination is a great TV with excellent picture quality, a good price, and all your normal features. Great choice for a TV/VCR combo.
I purchased this as a replacement for a small TV in my current bedroom - I could not be more satisfied with it. Toshiba is a name that you can definitely trust in the TV industry ? my only debate was in either purchasing this TV, or the $200 clone that included a DVD player. I came to the conclusion that for the price, this was the better choice.

Value
This is an excellent TV for the money. It includes the FST PURE? Flat tube-type display, which is just fabulous, along with a great VCR that performs well ? I will get to performance a bit later on. If you are thinking about getting the combo TVs with the VCR/DVD player, I would suggest purchasing this, and buying a separate DVD player. It may be more convenient to have it in one unit, but price-wise, it is just not worth it. You get plenty more features in a separate $200 DVD player, than one built into a TV.

Display
The FST PURE? Flat tube monitor was made for not only picture quality, but eliminate unwanted reflections from room light compared to conventional tube designs and increase the viewing angle. Let me tell you, I am easily able to get an excellent view sitting from pretty much anywhere in the room. If I am either in bed, or sitting at my computer (almost directly to the side of the unit), the quality is the same as if sitting right in front ? that is definitely a big plus. Watching movies on this unit is good as well ? the picture is definitely good enough (sharpness and brightness is perfect.)

Features
This unit has many great features ? it includes an Auto Repeat feature useful for trade shows or retail applications, a Sleep Timer which saves energy, a wake Timer which is a convenient alternative to a clock radio, and a almost all of your basic VCR functions (lets you record 8 things, and recording quality is just as good as watching it live). The only thing I wish was in this unit was VCR+, but then again, I could not find one TV/VCR combo with this feature. I guess this is only to be found on those top of the line VCRs that are separate from the TV. Hardware wise, this TV has a 2 sets of AV inputs (one in the front which is real useful for connecting video game systems or a camcorder), and a set of AV outputs which is fine for sending picture and sound to a receiver or other unit. The headphone jack in front is a great add-on as well.

Remote
I always say that the remote control is possibly the most important thing in any type of electronic equipment. Why? Well, it is the only thing you use to control the equipment (who really gets up and changing the channel and volume by pushing buttons on the TV?) If you aren?t happy with the remote, then you can?t be satisfied with the TV. I honestly think the buttons (aside from the VCR buttons) are too small. I have great vision, and at night, boy it is hard to tell what button is what. The VCR ones are a bit bigger, and glow in the dark, but the rest takes some getting used to.
