The Bottom Line:
This laptop is a great laptop for the average user. Not too powerful, but not short of power either.
The reason I bought The toshiba L300 laptop initially was for work. At the time I was working in a showhome selling new houses, so I wanted something that I could use while there to fill out forms and show clients the comany website. I did not need anything too powerful or heavy, and relatively small screen. That job didnt last too long, however, so now that I have a laptop at home, I barely ever use my desktop computer anymore.
I find the portability of the laptop far more useful than I thought it would be. Being able to have it in the kitchen when I am trying a new recipe which is online, and not have to go into the computer room every couple of minutes is a great asset. or just while watching television and doing something online while the commercials are on is also nice.
The only thing that I have noticed about the laptop that I hate is the silver finish around the keyboard. I have only had the laptop for 6 months and the silver finish near the bottom of the laptop near the touchpad has already worn off slightly.
It would have also been nice to see a magnetic power connector like the Mac's have. I have already noticed that my power connector is starting to loosen, which is not a good sign, and the magnetic connector would fix that problem.
