Great Picture, Price & HDMI cable included!,
Pros
Superb picture, included HDMI cable adds extra savings, convenience and quality. Region free ability.
Cons
Remote sensitivity poor, Rechargeable NIMH batteries helped (higher voltage?). No HD output defaults.

The Bottom Line:
Included HDMI cable and for $120 including shipping, it's the best deal around. Picture quality great. Live with the remote inconveniences. This is a fine addition to any widescreen HDTV/EDTV.
Tried this player right out of the box with my Panasonic 37 inch plasma EDTV and Sony 42 inch LCD HDTV. Both easily matched my cable and satellite HD picture when playing widescreen Master and Commander, Farscape Peacekeeper Wars and Star Wars giftbox via the included HDMI cable.
Widescreen picture at the 1080i option was the best to my eye and for some reason 480p via HDMI did not give correct aspect in widescreen mode, even with the EDTV set. Region free fix enabled me to use this for all my UK DVD's and make my old Apex a backup player. HDMI cable enables clean cabling into your set as both sound and video is superior via this input.
The remote does take tinkering with, bouncing off ceiling works best for me, poor remote sensitivity and button placement is the only bad feature of this unit. So far after a little more than a month of use, this player has convinced me to keep buying DVD's and not wait for the new Hidef DVD models to come out and it probably is keeping me in the house far too often. Ability to use the included remote with my TV's and even control video inputs is also a nice plus.
