Horrible Product!
Pros
HDMI hookup
Cons
terrible remote, slow response to commands, terrible playback
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
Do not purchase this product...I guarantee you will regret it!
I have never been so unhappy with an electronics product in my life! I bought this without much thought as I liked the up-conversion feature and it came recommended from a sales clerk who claimed he had one and loved it. It just never crossed my mind that a product could be so horrible. It just gets worse everyday!
I didn't like it from the get go due to it's terrible remote control setup. I constantly have to search for buttons and frequently fat finger and give the wrong command because the buttons are so tiny and close together. Also, you often have to hit the buttons several times or mash them down to get a reaction from the unit. Same problem exists with the buttons on the front of the unit.
As time goes on, it gets worse at playing DVDs. Brand new DVDs skip, freeze, or pixelate. I can't even remember the last movie that didn't go bad somehow when played in this unit. I tried lens cleaner discs and they didn't have any effect. Sometimes I put discs in it and it reads "bad disc" or "no disc." I eject and try again and it will usually recognize it on the second attempt.
It does have a decent picture when it works, but it is just more frustrating than it is worth. The HDMI is cool too, but that is not unique anymore.
