Toshiba SD-P1400 7 in. Portable DVD Player

The Toshiba SDP-1400 was my first experience with a portable DVD player. On the surface, the 1400 looks much sleeker and sharp than the previous model (the 1200), which I believed looked pretty cheesy (looked "plastic-y" and had too much red). Picture and sound are much better than expected. The 7" screen is acceptable; however, non-anamorphic DVDs do not fill up the whole screen appropriately (have to view letterboxed). The zoom function is pan and scan. The remote control is credit card sized and very intuitive. Only drawback that comes to mind with the player is that it is quite loud (you can really hear the DVD spinning); however, I'm sure that that's a common complaint among portables. Price was UNBELIEVABLE considering what you have to pay for something like a Sony. Was only slightly more expensive than the generic no-name players. Advertises to play DVD-Rs; however, will also play my DVD+Rs.
