A Wonderful Product for the Money

Pros Perfect screen size, great picture quality, sound is very good comparitively.
Cons Hard to open, battery's sent out are typically not working properly.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  I would recommend this product despite it's drawbacks.
My husband and I bought this for airplane travel, and have not been disappointed. The picture quality is excellent, and the sound is very good if you are in a fairly quiet environment. It comes with two headphone jacks which you will want to take advantage if you take it on a plane due to the loudness of the plane. We purchased the Sennheiser noise cancelling headphones, and were just amazed at how well they work. Together they form a wonderful pair.

When our first unit arrived the battery did not work. Upon receipt of the replacement we discovered that we had a battery that worked for 5 hours. That's a big plus if you've got a long flight. We did find that one of the DVD's we'd brought with us was unreadable, and we were unable to determine what that was all about (we are sooo not technically inclined). But that was one out of the 6 movies we'd watched that trip, and we have not had the problem since. It was an older movie and it was purchased at a bargain price so who knows. We'd seen the movie at home so we know it was not the DVD.

The biggest problem seems to be obtaining one of these units (which are all refurbished) with a working battery. Some don't work, some show that they don't hold a full charge (a sign that it's on it's way out we were told), etc. You may end up doing a little legwork to pull together a good unit, but in the end it's worth it. Other units with a similar screen size cost a great deal more, and this product is excellent if you can obtain one in good condition.

One other slight drawback is that it is difficult to open up. It almost takes three hands, but you will manage. At least it won't accidentally flop open.
