Okay, its a 2006 model and Best Buy has already dropped the price from 149.99 to 129.99.. no wonder.. I found out the hard way today. Out of the box, all looks good, and a HDMI cable was provided too. Hooked it up - the remote absolutely sucks. On average, I had to depress the button 3 to 4 times to register a response, and had to be pointed directly at the player. Also, I hooked up a HDMI to DVI interface (my HDTV has a DVI input) and the 1080i picture was actually worse than the plain 480i progressive scan interface with component RGB cables.
It's amazing that with all that technology, they choose to chinse out on the infrared LED parts themselves in the remote and/or the sensor in the player. Ah well, it's going back tomorrow...
