Toshiba TP50H50 50 in. TV

When the delivery men opened the big box in my basement, the first thing that came out of my mouth was, "Wow." This tv is a great size for recreation rooms or even large family rooms. It displays regular broadcast tv with great detail, thanks to the comb filter, and displays dvd even more breathtaking through the Colorstream Component Video inputs. Clearly, if you have a dvd player, these are the inputs of choice. The sound from the speakers is pretty good for stereo sound, although most people with a tv this size probably have it attached to a larger surround sound system. In any event, this tv is a great step up into the world of projection and can be found around the $1299 area, making it an affordable step as well.
