Great DVD player
Pros
Great sound and picture, looks, features, high quality RCA outputs.
Cons
If anything, remote control angle usefulness,
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Buy this if you do not want to cash out $1000 for a Blue Ray, it has HDMI up-conversion, so you should get comparable quality.
I have had this DVD player for around 3 months. After unpacking it, I hooked up my component video hook-ups, and my Monster cable THX fiber optic cable. I first tested it with the song, Bolero. This was an upgrade from my old Panasonic multi disk player from 2000; compared to the old one, I heard a larger sense of space and imaging, the highs were more apparent and defined, and the over all warmth of the sound blended better with what the instruments should sound like. Next, I put on the A/V intensive movie, the Matrix revolutions. During the scene where the machines breach the wall, I could feel the base, more so than most DVD players that I have tested. It carried a more vibrato tone- punchy, but still could maintain the after vibes of an explosion. The picture is great, the blacks are well defined, the other colors are well blended together, and the clarity of the picture showed every detail, without being too sharp.
So far, I have had no problems with it. It is responsive, fast at changing scenes and songs, and has looks to go along with durability. I highly suggest this DVD player.
