The TK-208K is great for K&V but has trouble with the M

Pros Inexpensive. Audio ports included. Keyboard hotkeys. Smooth switching. Prompt tech support.
Cons Problems with some optical mice. Difficult cable management.
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  If you are not picky about your mouse (or do not mind having 2 mice on your desk), then this KVM is probably a good deal for you.
I bought this KVM because I was adding an old Athlon ATX tower to experiment with Linux along side my HP Pavilion Windows XP Home computer. The switch was easy to set up, but it does take up more space than it appears in the photos because there are cables on all 4 sides. I just have it sitting on top of the computer, which is under my desk. There are no drivers required, and it gets its power from the computer (no outlet or batteries required). The audio cables are also a nice feature. They are designed for a microphone (or line-in) and one speaker channel, but I'm only using them for the center speakers in my surround sound set-up. With hotkey switching, I have the option of switching the KV&M separately from the audio. The switch works fine for my HP keyboard and Dell Trinitron CRT monitor (keep in mind this will not work with DVI LCD monitors); but I had trouble in both Windows and Linux with my standard-issue HP optical wheel mouse. Problems include significant tracking losses (jerky, stopping motion) and slow movement. I received a response to my email to TRENDnet tech support within 4 or 5 business hours, and their suggestion to try a different mouse was good. I tried an old, generic ball mouse, and it works fine (though I do notice the performance difference of switching from the optical mouse to the ball mouse). I am deciding if I should return it in favor of a more expensive model that would work with an optical mouse, but I have the luxury of trying some other mice from my office before I make that decision (a different optical mouse might work better).
