I bought this device only to control my PC's volume
while listening to streaming radio, and to mute
the commercials. I have not been able to accomplish
even this minimum functionality with Streamzap.

The unit contains a remote, much like a TV remote,
a receiver which connects to the computer's USB port,
and software. The problem I have is the receiver only
intermittently shows up on the computer, probably due
to a faulty USB plug on the receiver.

Because of the intermittent receiver connection, the
software had problems installing correctly. Also
sometimes when the computer boots, the Streamzap device
is present; more often it is not recognized by the
computer. Strangely, when it does re-appear, Windows
often forces me to re-install the device's driver.

When you go to Streamzap's web page looking for help,
you find no usable support.

They don't "do" phones and refuse to talk to any pesky
customers. They refer you to the knowledge database
for support, and since I've had my unit I have not once
been able to use that database because some technical
problem has rendered it unavailable.

All that's left is email to their "support" person who
after an initial useless reply has done nothing to help.

The web page says they'll reject any unit you return to
them without a return authorization number. Since the
"support" person won't help, you cannot get a return
authorization.

I may send this piece of garbage back to them anyway,
in very small pieces, so at least it will end up in
their landfill, where it belongs, instead of mine. I've
pretty much written off the purchase price.

The bottom line is, Streamzap builds garbage and has
no intention of supporting the customer unlucky enough
to have bought it. There are other PC remote products
out there, so don't make the mistake of buying anything
from Streamzap!

ps Sadly this unit actually did work a couple times,
and when it worked it did just what I wanted. Too bad
it's such junk by people who take your money and then
tell you to go bleep yourself.
