StreamZap Remote Control works great!
Pros
Easy to Use Works Great for Listed Programs
Cons
Not Very Customizable
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
If you use media programs like iTunes or Meedio (or any others listed on the box) this remote works like a charm!
I bought the StreamZap Remote Control off of eBay for around $30 not too long ago and I am quite happy with the results it has given me.
At first I could not get my computer to register the button presses on the remote. I shot an e-mail over to the customer service for the item and got a message back a couple days later which informed me that it might need new batteries (even though I was using the ones included with the remote itself) My computer actually died after that, and when I fixed it and reloaded it, the remote worked fine!
After I got the remote working I have used it extensively and I love it! I use iTunes and Meedio with the remote which work perfectly. I can sit back and open up either program, use it to browse through my movies and use it while watching the movie to pause, fast-forward etc. I can even use the power button on the remote to sleep the computer when I'm done (sadly you cannot wake the computer with the remote from what I can tell) The customizability of the remote, however, is lacking. There are only four buttons that you can customize and they primarily are used to open applications (I have mine set to open iTunes and Meedio and one set to put the remote into "Mouse Mode". The last goes unused).
If you use your computer as a media center, this item is perfect and I highly recommend it as long as you use one of the programs that the box itself says it is compatible with, because it is not very customizable.
Edit: In the packaging was the USB IR receiver, the Remote itself (with two AA batteries) and a software disc for drivers and the basic software (to customize the four buttons).
