Cheap, easy to use, and good quality camcorder

Pros Easy to use. Good quality video for the price and for instantly shared videos.
Cons Incompatible with iMovie. Why missing wrist adapter?
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Easy usage by a 10 year old and a 70 year old, the portability, and the cheap price outweighs the hassle of incompatibility with iMovie .
I bought this camcorder for my 11-yr old. The Sony mini DV camcorder is too clunky for her or her mom to maneuver. Plus, it is ideal for taking baby videos. It takes at least 10 seconds to get the Sony to be ready to shoot, and by the time you capture the scene, my 1-yr old boy is no longer dancing, smiling, crying, or whatever it was that he was doing that we wanted to capture in the first place.

I bought it at Amazon (how come it's not available as an offer on Epinions?) and it was a pretty smooth experience. The wrist strap didn't come with the package as advertised so that was a bit disappointing. Setting up was very easy, as all you have to do is insert the two AA batteries (included) and you're set. You can take video shots immediately, zoom in, zoom out, and flip the USB adapter to connect to the computer for editing.

Because I use an iMac, I had to download a software from flip's website that converts the movie into avi.

Sadly, I recently upgraded to Leopard (Mac OX 10.5) and for some reason iMovie 08 on Leopard does not recognize the avi movie produced by Flip, even though Quicktime plays it without any problem. I downloaded iSquint after reviewing some discussion boards, and use it to convert the avi files into mpeg4 that iMovie recognizes. I am eagerly awaiting for PureDigital to work with Apple to solve this incompatibility.

Also, I want a helmet adapter for ski action shots.
