Uniden LRD967 Radar Detector

I can't say that it can even hold a candle to more expensive detectors like the Valentine One, but for the low price of around $100, it's pretty good! I got mine a few months ago, and it's worked well so far. Although the range isn't great, if I'm moving at around 40mph, after I realize it's not a false alarm by glancing at the strength meter, I usually have about 5-10 seconds to slow down, which for me is plenty of time. It does go off at every super market in town, but in these situations you can easily tell it's a false alarm. It did save me from a NY state trooper one night. I was on my way up a hill, and he was going up the other side with his radar on. It picked up a strong (5) K signal about 3 seconds before he popped up and clocked me, but I got down about 15mph before he did. To tell you the truth, I was surprised it worked so well over a hill, but in doing so it paid for itself, and it saved me some points! The display and audio is very convenient, and a great feature. Easy to read even in glaring sun, and the suction cups you use to mount it on your windshield work great, along with a great quick-release feature, so you can take it off and hide it without taking the suction cups off. The default is voice and sound, but you can adjust it to what you want, which is convenient too!
