Nice features, rocker switches wear out
I bought this model in 2006, and it was indeed a big step up from a cluster of single-use remotes. The 880 was my replacement for a Sony Remote Commander AVR-1100, which is a big, boxy remote control with a huge backlit LCD screen with dozens of soft buttons on it.

Simply the best remote I have ever owned. Easy to use for the family, quick set up and easy to follow guides help. Sure, a PC and net connection is required but, most people have this. I've seen a few remotes that are $200 +, but this is by FAR the best one I've used.
