Venturer PVS177W 7 in. Portable DVD Player

When Wal-Mart had their after Thanksgiving sale last year, I bought the Venturer PVS177W Portable DVD Player with Screen for under a $100.00. It has been worth every penny. Why? Because it is portable and it has its own screen. It doesn't need to be hooked up to anything to watch a movie. The battery is fairly short lived only charging for a two hour movie but most of the times that is the length of a movie. However, if the movie runs longer than that, make sure you have an a/c outlet nearby. We have taken it on vacations with us and unless it is fully charged, it can be VERY disappointing.

The one I bought did not come with a D/C cord and I'll have to buy that separately. It is definitely a must have with this little player if you want to take it on road trips.

The sound quality is o.k. but we had to keep turning it up louder since it doesn't have much volume. Maybe it is better with headsets.

It has an MP3 player and so far, I have been able to play most DVDs and MP3's. There were a couple of burned cd's that wouldn't play but that is okay.

It is compact and easy to carry with you. I like the fact it is a personal player and the small 7" screen is large enough and clear enough to enjoy watching a movie.

The remote is not an option, it is a must. DON'T lose the remote. There are only a few functions on the DVD body and everything else requires the remote. You can adjust volume and it has a play mode, fast forward and pause, but you cannot screen select without the remote control.

If you don't plan on using it then disconnect the player from the battery as the battery drains pretty fast.

All in all this player is a good value for the money.
