Enjoyment in a pinch

Pros inexpensive and lightweight, good quality picture
Cons No case, warranty not very good
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Would highly recommend for those long trips and to entertain your kids.
My wife purchased this DVD player in December of 04 from Best buy. She got this for me for Christmas. Every time I would walk by one of these I would stop and comment how cool it would be to have one of these. It was not very expensive This model comes with a remote control and can be hooked up to your television. The 7" screen is small but has a very crystal clear picture. You can also use the AC adapter which I do highly recommend. The battery in this unit will not last very long. You will be lucky to be able to play a whole movie. It does very well with music compact disc. You also can hook this up to a amplifier or a set of external speakers. If you are by yourself or with only one person you probably will not need any speakers. But, as you will find out as I did, if you have a loud room you will need those external speakers.

The high definition in this unit uses the mpeg2 coding format and bring it all to over 500 lines. There are some unique functions to use, they are the multi-angle and multi-language. This is very use full for customers that speak more than one language. Or if they only speak one language. And what is especially nice you can use the parental lock on this device. Just like a camera this model can be adjusted to 2x, 3x, or 4x zoom on the original multi media playback. They have all the usual functions such as fast forward, fast reverse, slow play, frame play, repeat play, and program play. It also has a time search, to search certain part of the movie that you might have had to stop and continue to watch later. The content display and audio output can be hooked up to an external source. Also this small DVD player can fit in just about any brief case or large hand bag. Very nice to take to the hospital waiting rooms, and those very long trips.

The remote control looks like a large credit card, and not very thick. It has 25 different buttons to choose from. There is a AC adapter so that you can plug into a DC jack and it also has a spot to plug your headphones into. This player can be connected a television and to a amplifier. This comes with the usual AV cords with red, white, and yellow plugs on both ends of the cord. When you don't have this hooked up to the TV make sure you have it switched to the video position. If you don't you might think there is something wrong with the player.

This player is not to hard to operate, just press the lock button to pop open the cover and insert the disc. Then turn the power on. When you see the green light just hit the play button this should activate the player. This has all the features as the big ones. You can select the title and chapter, plus change the audio language to your choosing. You can even have it in subtitles and change the camera angles if you wish.

If you are wondering what the technical specifications are, they are as follows:

It is important that you read the manual when attaching and detaching the battery pack. Remember you need to keep it charge up because you will only get 3 to 5 hours of maximum playing time. I have had a very good time using this in different places and trips that I have been on. It always looks better when you play it when the battery is plugged in. I usually don't have any trouble with the music cd's. They seem to last a lot longer.

There is only a 90 day limited warranty on this model. They say that you have to keep all of the packing and the box and the original receipt if you need to get it serviced. I have had no problems with this at all. I have enjoyed it extremely well. This has been very durable, it has taken some abuse. Since it did not come with a case you just have to do the best that you can.
